Selo de Chumbo é uma conversa sobre ausências e presenças, sobre como a História da Arte apagou tantas mulheres e sobre a importância de resgatar essas vozes. Assume-se esse “selo” como ponto de rutura e transformação, utilizando-o como título e motor de reflexão sobre a censura, a exclusão, o direito à presença e à memória. É também uma crítica à forma como a história se repete, atualizando-se sobre novas linguagens e mecanismos, que nos permitem perceber que o ontem e o hoje estão muito mais próximos do que se pensa, e que, juntos, artistas de diferentes épocas se reinterpretam e reescrevem, simplesmente por partilharem o mesmo espaço.

Na idiossincrasia do título, revela-se o que perdura. Partindo de um dos idiomas mais usados na língua Portuguesa, Muitos Anos a Virar Frangos, reúne artistas portugueses para celebrar e reinterpretar técnicas e materiais tradicionais num contexto contemporâneo. Evocativa da ideia de trabalho repetitivo, persistência e mestria adquirida ao longo do tempo, um tributo às mãos que, por gerações, moldaram e transformaram a matéria-prima em arte. Propondo uma vivificação de um espaço no centro de Lisboa com alma Portuguesa, procuramos sublinhar a relevância do saber-fazer pela mão do criador. A materialidade assume um papel central, as obras exploram as qualidades sensoriais, revelando as suas histórias e a memória tátil que transportam. A materialidade não é apenas o meio, mas parte integrante da mensagem, desafiando a perceção do público sobre a tradição e a inovação ao revelar novas formas de interagir com o que é familiar.

Designed to reflect the refined taste and personal passions of its owners, the project celebrates craftsmanship, spatial clarity, and a curated dialogue between architecture and art.

Through the Forest Have I Gone” is the first joint exhibition of Maria Luz and Vasco Fragoso Mendes. This exhibition brings together pieces by both artists, where wood is the primary material of choice: either in its entirety or as a support for oil painting. The created works preserve the natural beauty of the wood itself, respecting it and creating new forms and images around its unique and aesthetic characteristics. The title, taken from the play “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” by W. Shakespeare (1594-1596), refers to the dichotomy between the city and the forest, where the former is a place of civilization, law, and order, and the latter, a place of wildness, anarchy, and chaos. In this place of hierarchical negation exists an atelier, which, amidst dust and chaos, gives wings to an idea that a single pair of hands could not accomplish. Thus, the escape to the forest is the theme for both artists, where a free hand—unbound by references and prejudices—brings us a close-up view of the details and limits of representing a flower.

The Pátio da Juventude aims to be a hub dedicated to art, based on laboratories in the areas of visual arts, performance, photography and video, focusing on young people and promoting works of interest to young audiences. The gallery aims to create an exhibition space that stimulates artistic plurality, existing as a versatile room and, at the same time, as a space for interconnecting various types of art. In this way, the aim is to create a gallery that, in addition to traditional exhibition methods, allows for a cultural program that cuts across various artistic areas.

Assim, a galeria São Mamede convida todos os jovens artistas e artistas emergentes que aspirem a mostrar a sua obra, a participar numa exposição coletiva a decorrer no novo espaço da galeria, situado na Rua Maestro Pedro de Freitas Branco, em Lisboa. Em setembro de 2022 o grupo de artistas selecionado participará numa exposição coletiva, servindo a galeria como espaço de convergência entre uma geração de artistas promissores e uma nova geração de colecionadores.

Havemos de ir ao futuro! is a collective exhibition that Zet Gallery presented with works by twelve young artists that we considered to be the future of national contemporary art. Curated by Helena Mendes Pereira and Filipa Leal, the exhibition presented works with a diversity of media and technologies in their creative processes, calling upon disciplines ranging from drawing to computer art, including painting, sculpture, serigraphy, performance and the use of light.
